Arts and Craft with Trees (for children)
About the course
Join us for a morning of fun with tree seeds…
We will learn about trees and their seeds through games, stories, arts and crafts. We will begin our day together with a circle and a game, then there will be a choice of arts and crafts inspired by our local trees and their wonderful seeds, including activities such as:
- alder cone bees
- pine cone bird feeders
- mini creature modelling with seeds and clay
- weaving with seed beads
- making an edible mandala on the earth
We will have time for a snack and story before our final circle to sing tree songs and say goodbye.
Who is this course suitable for?
- This course is suitable for children aged 6-12 years, who are happy to be dropped off.
- Please can children bring their own bag with bottle of water, a small snack and any items they may need eg. change of clothes / layers / sunhat.

- Learn about trees in a fun and engaging way
- Tree inspired song, story & games
- Children will enjoy the many benefits of engaging with nature

Children: £10 – £14 (sliding scale)

Please pay at the level comfortable to you. We support paying it forward – when you pay more as a supporter, it will directly facilitate someone else to attend via the supported (concessionary) rate. And all additional income will directly help with the planting of Children’s Forests, contributing towards a bright future for all.
About the tutors
Katie Smith: Katie is a Forest School Leader, Children’s Forest Facilitator and Home Education Mentor. She has been running groups with families and children for over 10 years and loves to play games in the woods, as well as forage to make medicines and wild food feasts. She likes witnessing the moments of magic when children feel their sense of belonging in nature
Rosie Collishaw Rosie is a former Primary School Teacher, Forest School Leader and Tutor. She enjoys using nature to bring learning to life through exploration, play and curiosity. She has worked with children for over a decade, and finds it thoroughly rewarding both leading groups and working 1:1 with children as a Tutor and a Drawing and Talking Practitioner.
