Peace Planting

Peace Planting

A movement to plant peace along with trees

The Peace Planting initiative is a movement that we hope will spread far and wide, bringing the planting of trees together with our prayers for peace. As we plant the trees with our hearts carrying the energy of peace, the intention is that this may radiate throughout the world for the benefit of life.

Join this movement

You are invited to join this movement by planting forests, groves, individual trees, plants or wild flower seeds in your local area. You can create your own simple way to do this, either in groups or as individuals, carrying the intention of love and peace as you plant into the Earth. This international initiative is in support of our unity within the web of life, and as such, is non-denominational and non-political, inclusive for all.

Although this project has been initiated by Children’s Forest, the Peace Planting Project is an independent movement, seeded to inspire people worldwide to plant trees for the health and biodiversity of our world for the future generations. We also recognise the power of human intention to bring about the positive change so needed in these times. We imagine the world we wish for and take purposeful action through planting trees to bring that vision into being.

Location: Find a local place for planting a grove, tree or seeds. It could be as simple as planting some wildflower seeds in your garden or in some ground near where you live. You could approach local land owners, or consider school or council grounds,
for example.

Trees: We suggest you plant native species because they provide vital habitat for native wildlife. You may also consider fruit and nut trees because they provide abundant free food for people as well as wildlife. Look for local tree nurseries who specialise in native species.

How: Our inner state of being radiates into the world. To wish for Peace we must become Peace. You may already have practices that enable you to reach peaceful inner states. In Children’s Forest we journey through four steps which we find helpful as a connective practice and you are welcome to use these as a guide.

Optional: You can work with a symbol that denotes peace, wholeness or balance to you – we worked with the ancient pattern; ‘The Flower of Life’ comprised of interwoven circles which contains within it the blueprint of creation – a pattern that is found throughout nature and the cosmos, representing balance, unity and wholeness. The trees were planted at the intersection points, rooting this pattern and intentions into the Earth. Click the images below to see the pattern up close!

How to

  • STEP 1: Experience peace and love within your heart in whatever way works for you. This may be calling to mind people, animals or places that you love and are grateful for.
  • STEP 2: Imagine this peace and love radiating from your heart like the golden rays of the Sun. The sun shines equally on all life, even from behind the clouds.
  • STEP 3: Plant your tree with this feeling alive within you.
  • STEP 4: Tend this tree or grove into the future and tend your heart connection with life over all the years to come.

With huge gratitude to all those who made this possible. To Rob Wyatt. who enabled this project through the legacy of his parents John and Betty Wyatt. To Penny at North Star Centre for hosting, to Philip & Stephanie Carr-Gomm from OBOD (Order of Bards, Ovates & Druids) for the beautiful ceremony and for their ongoing support from the start. To Daniel & Vija Docherty from Sacred Art of Geomtry along with Oliver Percival who helped create the 28m geometric form and to all the hearts and hands whom united in a shared vision for peace.

May these circles continue to expand.

“Our hearts resonate at the same frequency as the earth and the universe…

Therefore, we are all valuable instruments in the orchestration of the world and its harmony.”
