On this morning we will gather together at the Autumn Equinox to celebrate the land and the bounty of the years harvest.
We will share songs, stories, games and crafts inspired by the beauty and bounty of autumn, deepening our connection to the natural world and to our true selves.
There will be time for joy, connection and simple ceremony to honour this special time of year and the generosity of the land.
This gathering offers the opportunity to remember your natural state of being in relationship with nature and to celebrate the gifts of autumn.
Who is this course suitable for?
- This course is suitable for adults and accompanied children, both beginners level and those with more experience in nature connection.
The course will cover
- Seasonal celebration and traditions of our land
- Foraging and plant lore
- Nature based well being practices
- Nature inspired song, story &craft
- Create an opportunity to engage in simple ceremony together
- Connecting more with local community

If you are able to choose the Supporters rate or make an additional donation, you are helping to pay it forward – supporting those who may otherwise be unable to attend, and enabling us to continue planting trees with children and communities.
These days are not currently funded. Any additional contributions will provide pay-it-forward rates for those in need and will help sustain the longevity of Children’s Forest and support the planting of more forests for future generations.

About the tutors

Pippa James: Pippa has 25 years experience of working with land, designing and making ecological gardens. She has taught Permaculture for over 20 years and has been passionate about inspiring people to develop their own connection to a piece of land to grow food for families and communities. She has created the first Children’s Forest tree nursery, facilitating children to grow native trees from local seed, for planting Children’s Forests.

Jack Durtnall Jack is a musician, nature connection facilitator and forest school leader who came to nature connection work through an innate love for nature and folk song, inspired by the life-work of Jon Young and the 8 Shields. Jack’s background is in music. As well as his role leading workshops and facilitating on plantings, Jack co-leads the Children’s Forest Tree Choir and is part of the team bringing through the Song Forest project. Jack is part of the Folkadelix band, hosts a monthly jam session at the Hop Yard in Forest Row and performs solo shows.
