The Children’s Forest Facilitator course aims to provide participants with a deep nature immersion experience in a beautiful Sussex woodland while experiencing the four step journey of the Children’s Forest. Our aim is to create a heart centred learning experience that will inspire you to create your own tree planting projects through nature connection practice, practical knowledge and indigenous wisdom. WHO IS THIS COURSE FOR?

This course is designed for people with previous experience of working with children in a nature-connection setting. It offers an opportunity to deepen and broaden your practice, and introduces the skills and knowledge to plant and tend Children’s Forests with your groups.

COST: £475 (includes the cost of camping and all meals)  Please note, this fee is for stage 1. There are two more stages including a weekend tending camp at £350.

Our intention is to make sure this training is affordable for all who feel called. People are welcome to gift more and ‘pay it forward’ to enable others to train who need financial support and to support the ongoing running of the project. There is also opportunity to pay for training through funding for site specific projects. Please enquire.

Location: The course is run at a beautiful woodland site in East Sussex where there is a Children’s Forest we have planted and tended with a group of children over the years.

THE CHILDREN’S FOREST TRAINING COURSE IS IN 3 PARTS

PART 1:

Children’s Forest Facilitator Training SPRING 2023

£475 for 3 day camp with food included. Danehill East Sussex

This is a fun, connective experiential long weekend where you will learn the 4 steps of the Children’s Forest journey and the philosophy that inspires and informs the way we work.

PART 2:

Experience planting a Children’s Forest

Date and site to be chosen during planting season, no cost.

You will join in with a Children’s Forest planting project and experience the first 3 steps of the process in practice with the children.

PART 3:

Children’s Forest Tending course April 14-16th 2023 

(Arriving Friday 14th at 4pm and departing Sunday 16th at 4pm)

£350 2 days camp with food provided. Danehill East Sussex

In this final part of your training you will learn how to tend a Children’s Forest so that it thrives into the future.

Once you have completed all three parts of the training, you will  be welcomed into the community of Children’s Forest facilitators and can be employed to help facilitate Children’s Forest projects throughout the country over the years to come.
