Three day Facilitator Training Course

Our inaugural course took place during October 2021 in the woods and fields of a biodynamic farm near Danehill in East Sussex.  We have long had a relationship with this place, and planted a Children’s Forest here with one of the Forest School groups some of our team work with.

It was a wonderful few days in which we followed the CF four step journey, getting to experience each step as would children whilst planting a Children’s Forest.  We had time to reflect and discuss each step, and to get into the ‘nuts and bolts’ of planting a Children’s Forest.

There was also plenty of music, song and storytelling around the fire during the evenings – we even had an impromptu shadow puppet show!  And to finish off there was delicious acorn cake, cooked over the fire.  Please see the photos below for a flavour of this course.

Our next facilitator training course is 6th – 9th October 2022 in East Sussex.

This course is designed for people with previous experience of working with children in a nature-connection setting. It offers an opportunity to deepen and broaden your practice, and introduces the skills and knowledge to plant Children’s Forests with your groups. Following the taught section of the course all participants will be invited to attend an actual planting session with children, facilitated by the CF team. Once participants have completed both portions of their course they will then be welcomed into the community of Children’s Forest facilitators.  If you would like to apply to join the October 2022 CF facilitator training please complete the form below.
